The Abbey Springs Country Club
Tradition with a twist
Abbey Springs was already well-known for its classic club charm and beautiful grounds, but the clubhouse's look and feel really needed to be updated for the 21st century. The firm created sophisticated, yet casual interiors that appeal to existing club members and help attract new ones. Since the completion of the 58,000-square-foot renovation and 12,000-square-foot expansion of the club, membership has increased, banquet bookings are up and it has become a destination for live entertainment in the region. Recently, Golf Digest awarded the Fontana, Wisconsin club's golf course a 4 ½ out of 5 star rating.
"The challenge was to design interiors that are completely fresh and modern, but also maintain the spirit of the club's proud tradition," said Mary Cook. "In the end, the updated materials, furnishings and color schemes provided a strong jolt of energy to the atmosphere. The improvements have definitely helped promote more activity at the club."
