Mary Cook's renovation of the Evanston Golf Club clubhouse in Skokie, Illinois, was the runner-up in the "remodels & renovations" category for the annual Golf Inc. magazine awards. The interior renovation project transformed the dated clubhouse into a warm gathering spot, while still preserving the historical exterior elements. Since the renovation was completed, the club's membership increased by 15 percent, while banquet revenues have more than doubled.
